Online Learning Platform for Orthognathic Surgery Modules.

Problems Faced –

New Territory: Creating a learning platform from scratch, having never developed a similar system before, and needing to provide both whole-course and individual-module purchase options.
Complex Module System: The need to allow students to purchase either the full 10-module course or individual modules, coupled with ensuring each module provides the correct content (videos, PDFs)
Progress Monitoring & Certification: Ensuring student progress within modules is tracked, and upon completion, automatically generating a certificate with a unique serial number and student details.
Secure Purchasing & Content Protection: Setting up a robust purchasing process using Stripe and PayPal, while also ensuring purchased content remains confidential and isn’t shared improperly.

How I Overcame the Problems –

Comprehensive Self-Learning: Utilised extensive online resources, forums, and developer communities to grasp the nuances of e-learning platform development. Tailored the design to support both comprehensive course and individual module purchases.
Dynamic Content Delivery: Integrated a dynamic content management system that identifies the student’s purchase (be it a single module or the entire course) and delivers the corresponding content seamlessly.
Automated Tracking & Certification: Implemented progress tracking APIs to monitor student engagement with the modules. Upon completion, utilised automated scripting to generate a personalised certificate, complete with unique serialisation for CPD points.
Secure E-commerce Integration: Integrated Stripe and PayPal for a seamless and secure payment gateway. Incorporated OAuth for Google-based registrations. Post-purchase, designed a workflow directing students to a “thank you” page where they are required to digitally sign and agree to a legal document, ensuring the protection of confidential patient information.
